I’ve been “/afk” from wordpress

So…the desktop computer I bought November 2009 has been working pretty good except for some random blue screens/lock ups once in a while. Sigh… I haven’t touched the Sims 2 since last year but I have been playing the Sims 3 more and really enjoy it now. I still haven’t started a legacy for the sims 3 but I have done my playstyle of giving the Sims makeovers and giving their houses a makeover. I plan on making this blog into a sims 3 and a World of Warcraft blog for things that I’ve done in the games.

I’m still not sure which blog site I like. I did make a Tumblr a couple months ago, but it seems kind of like a site for reblogging and appearance–not substance. I remade a livejournal blog since a LJ account is required to join an all-female WOW guild that I’ve been considering joining. Surprisingly, I’ve been able to actually make posts at the LJ blog about sims, but it’s mostly World of Warcraft-related. I may try to copy over my LJ stuff here and/or even copy it to Tumblr too, but so far I think I like LJ more.

Computer issues

So my laptop has been freezing randomly while playing Sims 2 & 3 and World of Warcraft for the last couple weeks. I had forgotten that I have a warranty on it from Best Buy so the Geek Squad guy told me to back up everything and restore the laptop to factory settings then try reinstalling the games again so it should be fine or I could “come back and punch” him (in his words lol). I’m lazy and figured I’d try it later on but the graphics card (Nvidia GeForce 7100m) is already “outdated” and it’s “not supported” by Sims 3. I can play Sims 3 on it with the graphics at the lowest settings but it’s horrible.

I bought a new desktop with an Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 graphics card and it’s amazing how beautiful the Sims and WOW look. Sims 2 & 3 loading times are extremely fast and I’m now attempting to play Sims 3 again. Foundations and walls can connect now but now the floor tiles above it are uneven (?!) so I’m still learning a lot about the new build abilities and stressed too lol.

My Sims 2 pictures are on the laptop so this blog is going to be going slow. I’ve found some amazing Twilight Sims so I’ve been playing those mostly and may blog about those later on.

Under construction

This page is two days old and I’m nowhere near completed. Burb family tree is posted now.

My plans for this blog: To showcase the changes I’ve done to Maxis-made or Pre-made Sims, families, houses/decorating, neighborhoods from The Sims 2 game for PC.

Current issues: I don’t have photoshop anymore so I’m stuck using the basic Microsoft Paint program and a free program called Photoshare. A lot of my time is spent right now taking big, high-quality images from my game and manually having to save in Paint after each photo gets taken. Trying to work on family tree pictures also, but it’s a pain having to use the in-game photos of family trees of deceased relatives and then squeezing in their names.
